2017 update
Eugene is in the 7th grade for the 2017 school year at Injira primary school.
Eugene has memories of having to start school later in her life due to lack of finances among other disappointing problems at home. She and her elder sisters, who resorted for marriage after waiting long enough, hawked sugarcane in their tender ages in a bid to at least land a day’s meal.
She is one of Esther’s children and her efforts to stay in primary school despite being 19 years old, is a clear manifestation of determination.
