December, 2022 Christmas Party Distribution
Christmas came early to our brothers and sisters in Kenya and once again everything was done to tradition just like the pre pandemic years. Every child received new clothes, shoes as well as extra food and toiletries supplies. Among other special gifts were a cow, goat and chicken for select families.
To top it all off, everyone was treated to an end year feast with distinguished Kenyan delicacies served including masala rice, chapatti, deep fried chicken, corn bread and so much more. Further the congregation was filled with joy of getting together in celebration of the end of an eventful yet successful year.
Christmas means so much to many children and adults alike across the globe and as witnessed, Santa managed once again to put a smile on every child's face courtesy of your generous thoughtful giving. It is a season of neighborliness and indeed you all set the bar so high. Happy Christmas!

2021 January Back to School gifts
With the dawn of the New Year, it is back to school for all learners in Kenya and despite the ragging pandemic world over, the government has carefully crafted a return to school plan to help protect the students against Covid 19 both while at home and school.
Our sponsored children are excited to resume learning after months of staying home due to the global pandemic that led to all schools closing indefinitely. Also given that Kenya has no homeschooling plan in its education system, there is no way she could have kept up with her syllabus.
Armed with books, stationery, full school uniform, and more, students are ecstatic and eager to go back to school and see their peers.

Due to Corona virus related restrictions, our usual congregation at the Give Amore center was replaced with our team transporting supplies to the homes of the beneficiaries.
In addition to the food and toiletries we typically issue, this time there was an augmentation of hand washing stations, extra food and soap to supplement their provisions during these lean moments and help curb the spread of the virus in case of an outbreak in the remote rural areas.

Daisy was the recipient of Give Amore’s first ever “Student of the Month” Award. Our team bragged on her leadership skills, her good performance at school, her enthusiasm to help without being asked and her positive attitude. Great job Daisy! We are SO proud of you!
We loved learning more about Daisy during Christa & Heather’s trip! Daisy also received a small gift from our sponsors.
While we have seen so much growth in Daisy over the past year, we learned her and her family have moved back to the land her father left when he passed. His family is trying to fight Daisy’s mom for this land and it is causing many problems. Prayers are requested for this situation and that her mom would be able to receive the title of the land from the Kenyan government.
Daisy’s sister Valary is doing very well in school. Her brother Wallace is not in school, but at home. They would love to receive a college scholarship for Wallace.

While the American team was visiting, they were heartbroken to learn that Daisy’s home situation is very delicate. He dad passed in 2005 so her family is staying in her uncle’s home. You would never know from her beautiful smile, but Daisy, Valary and her mother are not being treated well physically. However, they are not able to think of moving away until Daisy takes her final exams and graduates from 8th grade in December, or she will not be able to move into high school next year. Daisy’s sister Valary graduated in 2017 and stays at the Grace Home at Cornerstone Church. Her brother Wallace graduated high school in 2016 and is currently out of work. Phanice, Daisy’s mom, is also out of work. The American team helped Phanice with some startup money to begin her business.

2017 update
Daisy is a Partial orphan. She lives with her single mother Phaice Kakai. Daisy has two of her siblings also in the program - Valary and Wallace. Her mother Phaice sells porridge in her village marke for the upkeep of her children.
When her father died, they were deserted and later chased away from their home by their paternal relatives. This they blamed on land reoccupation interest by their uncles and inheritance among other traditional rites.
Daisy is in 8th grade for the 2017 school year at Mukambi Primary School.
They moved out and thankfully landed in Give Amore’s hands and they are better placed like many other families. They currently live in an apartment
